Anxiety Medications

Anxiety medications, also called anti-anxiety medications or anxiolytics, are prescribed for anxiety disorders as well as for people who have anxiety along with bipolar disorder or major depression. Anxiety medications help to make people less anxious and also help to ease restlessness and worrying. Many of them also help people to sleep better. There are also some medications for depression that also are used to treat anxiety.

Research has found that more than half of people with bipolar disorder also have one or more anxiety disorders. Other people may not have enough anxiety symptoms to be formally diagnosed with an anxiety disorder but still need medication to manage their symptoms. Anxiousness, worry, agitation and insomnia, for example, are often experienced during bipolar depression and mixed episodes. Anxiety symptoms such as restlessness, worry and irritability may occur during mania and hypomania. Thus, it's common for bipolar people to have anti-anxiety medications prescribed. Buy Valium at Low Price.

Most of the anti-anxiety medications that are primarily intended to treat anxiety are called benzodiazepines. Many of these anxiety medications are also prescribed for other conditions such as insomnia and agitation, and some, including Ativan (lorazepam) and Klonopin (clonazepam) are used to help prevent seizures as well. Serax may be used to treat alcohol withdrawal. Other benzodiazepines used for anxiety are Librium (chlordiazepoxide), Valium (diazepam) and Xanax (alprazolam). Dalmane (flurazepam), Halcion (triazolam), and Restoril (temazepam) are also benzodiazepines but are used only as sedatives.

Too Lazy to Brush? Read This and You May Be Compelled to Run for a Toothbrush

Our pal Jessica Simpson has famously admitted that she often goes days between brushings, but if she heard about this new research, she might change her ways ...

According to a Scottish study of more than 11,000 people, if you don't brush your teeth twice a day, you're setting yourself up for an increased risk of heart disease. Scientists have long warned of the link between oral and heart health, but this is further proof to brush before bed, even if you really, really don't feel like it.

The researchers believe that bacteria accumulation in your mouth can lead to inflammation that can contribute to cardiovascular risk factors.

Trick or Treat? The Couple Who Handed Out Condoms on Halloween

Halloween (and fortunately, all the Nestle Crunch bars in my house) are long gone. But people are still stewing over a situation in Oregon, where a couple handed out condoms to children who came trick-or-treating at their door ...

TIME reports that Kathleen and Daniel Harris of Silverton, Oregon, decided to use Halloween as a chance to teach kids about safe sex. Kathleen told her local paper, the Statesman Journal, that she's been handing out condoms to kids on Halloween since the early 1990s. Her husband, Daniel, is a doctor at Silverton Hospital and says he has delivered 140 local babies over the years, about 10 percent of them to teenage mothers.

The Shocking Fast Food Experiment You Have to Read About

It's probably not shocking to know that I'm not a fan of fast food (for a long list of reasons that are too obvious too list). But, one blogger did a little experiment of her own to prove the point that, some fast food is, well, scary--this will shock you ...

Lisa Cain, the genius writer behind the terrific blog Snack Girl, launched an experiment recently. She wondered, after years of digestive issues from eating fast food burgers, if chain restaurant burgers decayed at the same rate at which homemade burgers do.

The photo above is proof. Both burgers were set on a plate and left in a 68 degree room for 11 days. The major fast food chain burger on the left (click on her post to see which restaurant), looks as fresh and perfect as is did the day it was purchased. The homemade burger? Yup, it rotted, as food should.

Dental Hygiene Care: Not Just In Dental Offices

New dental care in Canada allows hygienists' to practice independently from dentists at a lower cost

Access to more affordable dental hygiene care is easier in Ontario since dental hygienists are now able to practice independently from dentists. Seeing a dental hygienist in his/her own practice will cost you roughly 10-30 per cent less than if you saw a dental hygienist in a dental office.

For many dental hygienists being his/her own boss means being able to spend more time with each individual client. There is no time constraint like in dental offices where you are given a limited amount of time to see each client. You are now able to spend the time educating each client on his/her oral health and personal needs and develop a rapport with them.

How To Tell A Good Dentist From A Bad One

Well, now there's some help from Consumers Research by way of eight ways you can judge the good dentists from the bad ones. More importantly, you'll feel confident when recommending -or not recommending in some circumstances- the dentists to someone who asks you.

Consumers Research offers these questions for judging a dentist's skills after you have received treatment:

How does your bite feel?

Madison, Wisconsin Men Have The Best Teeth

Men's Health magazine recently published the results of its top ranked cities of where men with the best and worst teeth can be found. According to the survey results, Madison, Wisconsin men have the best teeth because they pay close attention to their dental hygiene, least teeth pulled and most regular dentist visits. The rankings for worst teeth, however, did not bode well for guys in Baton Rouge Louisiana as it received the dubious distinction as of the American city where men have the worst teeth.

The ranking of these cities doesn't just name and shame - rather it reminds all men the importance of paying attention to dental health. Teeth whitening treatments can give a smile a boost and if money is a concern, individuals can examine their dental insurance plans to determine which services are covered.

Dental Trick-or-Treats From Around the USA

One Massachusetts dentist is taking an innovative approach in helping his young patients avoid developing dental caries. Dr Thomas Pushak of Lexington, Massachusetts has been collecting Halloween candy from local children for the past 15 years. What's his secret? He pays them for it.

Do-It-Yourself Dentistry? Give Me A Break!

3 Million Get Their Teeth Into DIY Dentistry

Around 3 million people in England have resorted to DIY (Do It Yourself) dentistry, with a further 3 million knowing someone else that has, according to new research by WHICH?. 3 million represents roughly 8 per cent of the British population.

People would rather check their bank balance, go to the gym or face a packed Ikea on a Saturday afternoon instead of going to the dentist so it's easy to see why so many people are having a crack at it themselves with DIY Dentistry.

Of those trying DIY dentistry, 26 per cent have tried to pull a tooth using pliers and 12 per cent have tried doing this using a piece of string tied to a door handle. Three in ten DIY dentists (30 per cent) have tried to whiten their teeth with household cleaning products.

Study Links Avocados To Oral Cancer Prevention

Can you eat your way to better oral health?

Researchers at Ohio State University have found that nutrients taken from avocados can attack some oral cancer cells and prevent other pre-cancerous cells from developing into actual cancers of the mouth.

According to the researchers, previous research has found an association between the consumption of fruits and vegetables and reduced risk for various types of cancers. This effect is attributed to the high levels of phytonutrients and phytochemicals found in dark colored fruits and vegetables.

Focusing on the Hass avocado -the most readily available variety of avocado- the OSU researchers found that phytochemicals extracted from the bumpy-skinned fruit can target multiple signaling pathways and increase the amount of reactive oxygen within pre-cancerous oral cells, leading to cell death. However, the same chemicals have no negative effect on healthy, normal cells.

Oral Piercings Cause Dental Problems In Teens

Skin piercings might be the rage among teens, but researchers from Tel Aviv University have found good reasons to think twice about piercing one's tongue or lip.

Dr. Liran Levin, a dentist from the Department of Oral Rehabilitation, School of Dental Medicine at Tel Aviv University has found that about 15 to 20 percent of teens with oral piercings are at high risk for both tooth fractures and gum disease. Resulting tooth fractures as well as periodontal problems, he says, can lead to anterior (front) tooth loss later in life.

Only Teens Are Affected

High rates of fractures due to piercings are not found in other age groups, and cases of severe periodontal damage in teens without oral piercings are similarly rare, says Dr. Levin, who conducted the study with partners Dr. Yehuda Zadik and Dr. Tal Becker.

Break Your Child's Bad Dental Habits

Put Your Child on the Path to Good Oral Health

While it is important to maintain good oral habits in children, it is equally important to understand and break the bad habits. Going to bed with a bottle, thumb / finger sucking and swallowing toothpaste are some examples of bad dental habits in children.

Going to Bed With a Bottle

The result of sending a child to bed with a bottle of anything other than water is severe tooth decay (cavities). The sugar from the fluid in the bottle stays on the teeth for long periods of time causing the bacteria on the child's teeth and the sugar to mix. This mixture forms a type of acid that eats through the enamel and makes cavities. Dentists sometimes use the term "bottle Mouth" to describe the mouth of a child that has been sent to bed repeatedly with a bottle. This is not an easy habit to break, but it can be done. If your child is taking a bottle to bed, try diluting the liquid down a little each night until the end result is just water.

Every (Bad) Breath You Take

Test Yourself For Halitosis (IE. Bad Breath)

No one wants to be that person that other people talk about behind their back saying how bad their breath is. Therefore, here are three simple methods to help you test yourself for "stinky breath" / chronic halitosis:

First take a piece of un-waxed, un-flavored white dental floss and floss between your upper and lower back molars. Examine the floss. Is it red or brown? Wait about 45 seconds and then smell it closely. Does it have a bad odor?

The next test is to take a clean washcloth and then pull your tongue forward with one hand grasping the tongue with the washcloth. With the other hand and a clean white washcloth rub or scrape the furthest back portion of your tongue two or three times. Again, wait for about 45 seconds and then smell the portion of the cloth that was rubbed on the tongue. Does it have a bad smell?

Nutritional Supplements Improve Periodontal Health

Dental News

The periodontists in both of Dr. David DiGiallorenzo's Pennsylvania dental practices have recently began offering two lines of nutritional supplements to patients as a means of promoting the connection between good nutrition and improved periodontal health.

Wisdom Teeth Are Indeed Wise

Wisdom Teeth A Source For Stem Cells?

Researchers in Japan have successfully made stem cells from wisdom teeth, creating an alternative source of pluripotent cells for researching and treating disease and avoiding the ethical problems surrounding embryonic stem cell research.

Scientists at Japan's National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, which is funded by the government, said they used wisdom teeth that had been frozen for three years after being removed from a 10 year old girl. Lead investigator of the project, Hajime Ogushi, told AFP news agency that their work was significant for two reasons. First, it avoids the ethical problem of using embryonic stem cells, and besides, wisdom teeth are usually thrown away, and second, it is easy to stock wisdom teeth.

Sugarless Gum Can Help Prevent Cavities

If you chew gum, you are not alone. It has been estimated that more than half of all Americans are gum chewers. But is chewing gum hazardous to your dental health? It depends upon the type of gum you chew.

Chewing gum that contains sugar is reportedly associated with the promotion of caries or dental decay. But chewing sugarless gum with the artificial sweetener Xylitol is not associated with causing dental decay and has even been shown to help prevent decay.

The xylitol in sugarless gum also plays a role in preventing caries. A recent study showed that syrup containing xylitol given orally to children age 9 to 13 months had significantly fewer cavities than the children who did not receive the xylitol syrup.

The old wives tale "for every child the mother loses a tooth" has some validity, according to a NYU dental professor.

Women who have more children are more likely to have missing teeth, according to a nationwide study of 2,635 women by Dr. Stefanie Russell, an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology & Health Promotion, which was published on the Web site of the American Journal of Public Health.

Dr. Russell's conclusions are based on information on white and black non-Hispanic women ages 18-64 who reported at least one pregnancy in the Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, a representative study of the U.S. population.

Replace Your Toothbrush With Chewing Gum?

Dental News: University of Kentucky researchers have developed a chewing gum that can help replace both the toothpaste and a toothbrush, thus improving the health of soldiers in the field as well as children in poor countries.

That's right, Gum.

Developed via what's known as the "military gum project,", researchers have found that an antimicrobial, known as KSL, can be infused in chewing gum. KSL is anti-adhesive and abrasive agent that disrupts and helps dissolve plaque and, as every toothpaste commercial has told us for years, fighting plaque is key to good oral hygiene.

Since World War I, thousands of American soldiers have suffered from the extreme form of gingivitis that can result in painful ulcers, infection and bleeding gums. You've probably heard it called "trench mouth." Even today, about 15 percent of all U.S. Army sick calls are related to dental problems.

Increased Death Among Toothless Diabetics

Dental News

According to the journal Diabetologia, a recent study revealed that people with diabetes who have lost all of their teeth have a 50% greater risk of death than similar-aged diabetics who have most of their teeth. The study was conducted by researchers at The George Institute for International Health (Sydney, Australia) using data from almost 11,000 people, ages 55 to 88 who have type 2 diabetes.

People's teeth were counted at the start of the study. They also answered questions about how often their gums bled. Researchers kept track of the people for 5 years and recorded deaths and the causes of death. Bleeding gums were not linked with an increased risk of death. But compared with people who had at least 22 teeth, diabetics with no teeth had greater risks of:

A Dentist On Reducing Your Dental Bills

Select a dentist that is interested in Prevention. The key to reducing dental costs is prevention. There is a lot that you can do to avoid serious dental problems.

Regular dental checkups are an essential part of any prevention program. If you see your dentist regularly, any dental problems you have can be treated in their early stages. If you see a dentist only in an emergency, when you already have a serious problem, treatment may be much more costly. In the long run, nothing is more economical than the regular dental checkup.

Periodically, your dentist may ask you to have an X-ray examination. X-rays help your dentist find hidden conditions that can threaten your oral or general health. Treating these conditions at an early stage often prevents more serious damage and the need for more expensive treatment later.

Allergic Reaction to Antibiotics

Having an allergic reaction to antibiotics is becoming quite common, as the use of antibiotics to treat various infections is becoming quite common. This article is an attempt to understand allergic reaction to antibiotics and ways to treat them.

Antibiotics are used for curing, preventing and managing infections caused by various bacteria, causing diseases. Consuming antibiotics for almost all health problems has become a normal way to handle infections and diseases. The word antibiotic is derived from two Greek words; anti and bios meaning against and life respectively.

Antibiotic drugs are derived wholly or partially from strains of bacteria or molds. When bacteria invades the body, causing disruptions to its functioning, and the immune system fails to fight it off, powerful antibiotics are prescribed to aid the immune system. They may kill bacteria or inhibit its growth. A note to bear in mind is that antibiotics can only reduce infection caused by bacteria, and not by viruses that cause cold and flu. Used appropriately, antibiotics can save life, but can cause complications if used indiscriminately. But there are times, when our body produces an allergic reaction to antibiotics, even when used cautiously.

A Simple 1200 Calorie Diet Plan

Dealing with obesity can be very frustrating; as it takes a lot of time to burn calories and attain the perfect figure you always wanted. Most people tend to starve their bodies but what really happens is that the body slows down its use of calories thereby showing no significant weight loss on the scale. According to fitness experts, it is healthy to consume 1200 calories on a daily basis so as to provide the necessary nutrients to the body and allow for the calorie deficit required for fast weight loss.

Most diet plans that are devised by nutritionists and medical professionals are designed to accommodate 1200 calories. However certain factors do affect the number of calories a person needs to eat to attain weight loss. These factors would include gender, age, metabolic rate, fitness levels, exercise regime, medical history, and body size. People suffer from different allergies, due to which they can't even eat their favorite foods. It's necessary to diagnose allergies so that one can take preventive measures to stay away from them. Let's discuss more on allergy tests and their types.

Allergy tests are skin or blood tests performed on an individual to know more about a specific substance which can induce an allergic response in that individual. Any type of test can be selected for testing an allergy, however, there are immediate results in a skin test. Moreover, they are very dependable and usually quite inexpensive as compared to blood tests. By taking an allergy test, one can be well informed if symptoms like sneezing, wheezing, and skin rashes are results of some allergies. The end result of the tests can help the physician develop an intervention plan which may include keeping away from allergens, and medicaments or therapies that increase immunity to allergens.

Allergy Sufferers Find Help Through Naturopathic Means

Allergy sufferers are given a number of options for dealing with their asthma and allergy symptoms. This article provides some tips for managing allergy symptoms using homoepathic and other natural remedies.

American television programs of the 1950s taught simple axioms such as Clear Fences Make Good Neighbors and If You Don’t Have Anything Nice To Say, Don’t Say Anything At All. In that simple golden era, severe allergies were extremely rare among the population, so something like a potentially lethal bee sting provided more than enough material for a thirty-minute comedic episode.

Since then, television has become less wholesome, ethics and plotlines more complex, and severe allergies more common. In fact, the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey found that 60 million Americans suffer from allergies, and the CDC and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases both report that the number of Americans with allergies has been on the rise for the last ten years.

Blue-green Algae have benefited many people who complained of poor memory or concentration and this is most likely due to its high content of usable proteins and amino acid peptides that are crucial to the formation of neurotransmitters, plus its high nutrient content that provides nourishment to hitherto weakened nerves.

Another factor in the algae’s success as "brain food" may lie in its high choline and manganese content. Choline is known as the "brain enhancing vitamin," while manganese deficiency (fully correctable by the algae) can lead to pre-senile brain degradation.

Allergy symptoms in children are mostly similar to symptoms of flu. Read on to learn some information on how to recognize allergy symptoms in children.

Children are often down with illness due to many types of allergies. There are over a million kids in United States, who have some kind of allergy. Sometimes the allergy is mild or in some cases the allergies take a serious turn. What exactly is an allergy? It is an over reactive immune system, that launches a full fledged attack on a simple substance. This simple substance is termed as an allergen that does not cause any kind of reaction in most people. The immune system produces immunogloblulin E (IgE) antibodies. These IgE antibodies stimulate mast cells and basophils to produce chemicals to attack the alleged allergen or invader. This production of chemicals, including histamine, causes an allergic reaction. These allergic reactions will occur every time the child is exposed to the allergen. Let us go into the details of how to recognize allergy symptoms in children.

Allergy can be termed as a disorder associated with the immune system, where it becomes hypersensitive to certain substances, that are considered harmless, as the immune system in a non-allergic individual does not react to them. Generally, our body produces immune response, when we encounter some harmful and infectious agents like bacteria, virus or fungi. In such a situation the immune system recognizes these foreign substances, and produces antibodies and chemicals like histamines to destroy them. But in certain individuals, who are allergic, immune system can produce antibodies and chemicals against some foreign, but non-infectious substances, which are called allergens. The result is an exaggerated immune response, which can cause allergic reaction in both adults and children.

11 Alternative Uses For Dental Floss

There are so many more ways to use dental floss than just to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Because it's made with nylon or Teflon fibers, floss is stronger than string or thread, easier to work with than wire and you can get it cheap at most dollar stores. Here are just a few of the many alternative uses for dental floss:

Hang Time - Use dental floss to hang pictures, sun catchers or Christmas ornaments. In fact, you can use it to hang just about any smallish object in need of string or wire.

Sew Neat - I love this one. If you've ever had a coat button that keeps coming off, and who hasn't, try dental floss instead of thread the next time you sew it on. Floss is also strong enough to repair tears in mess on things like playpens, beach bags and laundry bags.A cut above - If you wrap a length of dental floss around one finger on each hand, you can cut perfect cake slices. It's cleaner and neater than using a knife. You can cut fruit, soft cheese, bread and hard-boiled eggs this way, too.

Picky Eater: Dining in the dark not as helpful as we’d hoped

Picky eaters do not review restaurants. Be grateful.
I dined with two of Toronto’s pickiest eaters at O Noir two weeks ago. We met after they emailed me about their struggles with vegetables and condiments.
A waitress asked Tony Williamson, a self-confessed veggie-hater, about his appetizer.
I put a dent in my salad,” the 40-year-old father of two replied. “I only gagged twice.
The picky eater’s compliment is not exactly a glowing review.
The food was fantastic, it’s something else,” Williamson said, realizing his mistake.
Something else” is perhaps the most succinct way to describe picky eating, the frustrating, irrational and perplexing way a small group of Canadians eat.
But this restaurant is also something else. At O Noir, wait staff is blind and diners eat in darkness to share the experience. We picky eaters hoped we would be more adventurous if we didn’t see the food we fear.
At the Church St. restaurant, diners congregate in a dimly lit room to look at the menu before they enter the dark dining room. There are several options for appetizers, main courses and desserts, and a “surprise” option.
Williamson stood there, skeptical of the appetizers: grilled portobello mushroom, grilled octopus, grilled calamari, salad with mushrooms and the surprise.
There is nothing I would eat there,” he said, ordering the surprise — later revealed as a salad.
Williamson works in IT and is a meat and potatoes guy. The only vegetables he eats — corn, tomatoes and cucumbers — aren’t technically classified as vegetables. Corn is botanically a grain, tomatoes and cucumbers are fruit.
At Subway, I order a sub and they automatically reach for lettuce. I’m like, ‘No lettuce, no lettuce.’ If one little piece of lettuce hits that, I’m freaked out,’ ” he says.
This all makes me feel so much better,” says Shannon Mitchell, who works in public relations.
Mitchell, 24, doesn’t like sauces of any kind.
There are lots of meat and potato dishes in the main course section. The problem, for all of us, are the side vegetables and sauces. Mitchell orders the surprise main dish.
If you need anything just holler,” a waitress says. “Any questions or concerns?
If you only knew.
The three of us aren’t medically compromised picky eaters. We’re just selective, the kind of people who prefer Alphagetti to artichokes. Nancy Zucker, the director at the Duke Center for Eating Disorders, said depriving picky eaters of vision is a good way to reduce the anticipatory anxiety many feel before taking a bite.
A lot of time the fear gets in the way, notwithstanding the taste and smell. You see something, and start to get afraid and your stomach gets all tight,” she said.
We’re escorted into the room, our hands on the shoulder of the person in front of us. Mitchell has brought two long-suffering dinner partners: her boyfriend, Liam Mulligan, and friend Michelle Dias.
While we wait for appetizers, we talk about our puzzling behaviour. Williamson says he can force himself to eat on occasion, like his second date with his wife. Eating quiche was torture, but he did it. Now they have two kids.
I know it’s an irrational thing,” he says. “Why is this so hard (at other times) if I can do it now?
Those situations come up with Liam’s parents, and I won’t do it,” Mitchell responds, saying she’d rather be embarrassed by a juvenile selection than a wasted meal.
The appetizers arrive and Mitchell reaches into the darkness and feels something wet. It’s a salad with vegetables and dressing.
She hates dressing. Williamson hates salads.
Who has gagged at least once so far?” Williamson asks after a few minutes pass.
Mitchell admits she stopped eating. “If I don’t like it why would I want to eat it? If you stub your toe, it hurts, but you get over it. Why would I want to do it again?
As he makes his way through the salad, Williamson says his wife is worried his diet of “crap food.
She says, ‘What happens if one day the doctors say you can’t eat poutine and cheeseburgers for the rest of your life?’ ” he says. “One day I have to force myself to do this.
As we eat our main courses (Mitchell is delighted that it’s a meat and potatoes variation, Williamson spins his plate to avoid the vegetables,) Williamson talks about his daughters, ages 6 and 8. They are good eaters, but when they get fussy, he makes them take three bites. It is something he cannot do.
I don’t want them to go to a dinner party and sit there and go, ‘Enh, I’ll have some Tic Tacs out of my purse,’ ” he says. “I don’t want them to live this crap that I’m going through.
Mitchell thinks she’ll be the same way when she’s a parent. Mitchell says she’ll change when she’s pregnant. “If I can change when I need to, why can’t I do it now?” she says.
We’re all kids at heart,” Williamson says. “One day I’ll grow up and when I grow up I’ll eat like a grown up.

The Picky Eaters
Tony Williamson, 40, Markham
Picky about: Odour and texture. Doesn’t like most vegetables, fruit, seafood, eggs, onions, mashed potatoes
Ordered: Surprise appetizer (salad); veal, potatoes and sautéed vegetables for main
How he fared: Gagged twice eating salad but ate 2/3 of it. Finished veal and most of potatoes but did not eat sautéed vegetables (the smell of marinara sauce nearby threw him off)
Picky relatives: Sister recently confessed to having minor issues with odour of seafood and eggs
Concerns: Passing habits on to children; a doctor ordering him to stop eating fatty foods and red meat
Shannon Mitchell, 24, Toronto
Picky about: Doesn’t like sauces. Has never tried mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, or relish. Doesn’t really like vegetables. Knows “instinctively” she won’t like certain foods. Doesn’t like squishy foods like cooked vegetables.
Ordered: Surprise appetizer (salad); surprise main (chicken with mushroom sauce, potato, roasted vegetables)
How she fared: No gagging, but ate only one bit of salad because it was too saucy. Ate main course, just not the veggies.
Eating in darkness: It helped. “I didn’t know I was eating a mushroom sauce on the main at all.
Picky relatives: Mother doesn’t like foods to mix
Concerns: Social and professional; cannot eat most catered work meals
Katie Daubs, 25, Toronto

Ordered: Surprise appetizer (salad); filet mignon with potatoes and vegetables as main
How she fared: Ate green beans, peppers and unidentified vegetables she normally wouldn’t eat. Only spit one mushroom out in the salad. Should have tried a more daring dish but couldn’t commit to the frightening world of seafood.
Eating in darkness: Removed most anticipatory anxiety.
Picky relatives: Mother and brother; both grew out of picky eating.
Concerns: Diabetes runs in the family, and current diet isn’t preventive
